Took the Mustang into my local Ford dealer for a Sync update and was told that I needed to have an appointment and that they couldn't get me in for a week because they only have 1 tech who knows how to flash Sync updates and hes 30 cars deep (the TSB notice for the update says that it should take 0.4 hours). Instead of arguing with them, I drove down the street to the local Lincoln dealer. They were happy to take it in and I was in and out with new software in no time.

My Ford dealer made me wait 90 minutes... to replace a missing "F" badge on the Fusion.

The Lincoln dealer wasn't busy, eh? Surprise.

They were decently busy, but they worked out a way to update my car anyways since it didn't need to be up on a hoist or anything.

I just wish Ford could get their damn website to work properly and let you download the update file yourself. Seriously people, it isn't that difficult to figure out how to post a file online and let people download it.

Wait.... If that's your phone, how'd you take the picture?

The pictures are coming from inside the car!

So...you got "F"-ed?

I'm always torn...if I needed a dealer service....Ford or Lincoln dealer. I drive a Mercury (DD and muscle car, though obviously the DD Milan would be the only one at a dealer). I guess I'll go to Lincoln if I need to.

yes, but the idiots who try to get it into the car would fail and then say ford builds crappy cars.

I take my Mariner to a Ford shop when it needs a dealer type service, but that's mostly because the Ford dealer is a lot closer to my house than the Lincoln dealer.

Ok I have a 2011 Mustang GT with the touch screen. out of curiosity do you think I need to take it to be updated? I do not know when it was last updated.

Must have been some.... Con- Fusion...

Good suggestion, I'm sure this is different from city to city. Some dealers are just more pleasant to deal with than others.

But they already let you download the update to a USB and install it yourself. It just doesn't work properly.

yeah other way around for me. I'm just wondering if i'll get a more "high end experience" at the Lincoln dealer...

I dunno if theres an update for MFT. I assume there is, but look online maybe? Or call and ask your dealer. My Mustang doesn't have MFT, just the regular audio system like the one pictured.
![]() 04/09/2014 at 16:21 |

Well technically its not MFT

This post made me realize something. I have no freaking clue where there even IS a Lincoln dealer. I regularly drive through every lot in a 10 mile radius. No Lincoln dealer.

I concur about the website. I recently got a 2014 Fiesta ST, and did the vehicle health report, and while trying to click "view my report" on the website, it just kept taking me to find local dealers, after about 10 tries it finally took me to my report.

You actually got to your report?!
I couldn't in my FiST. BTW are you on FiestaST.net FiestaST.org or FiestaSTForum.com? we greatly encourage you to join because actual Ford MFT system reps get on there and will really go out of their way to help you. The lady Kim on .org is super helpful.

is there a little badge that says "SYNC" anywhere?
![]() 04/14/2014 at 11:39 |

Yes...its a 2011 GT Premium all options
![]() 04/14/2014 at 11:56 |

then yes there is an update

Yeah, after trying a ton of times. I was literally about to contact help, and then I tried one more time to view my report and it went through! Good thing too, told me my oil only has 19% life left, time to take it back to carmax and make them change it.
Not yet, I plan on joining the forums, I barely bought the car Saturday, so I'm still busy getting everything in order, I bought it used but it's a 2014 so I'm trying to get all the warranty crap and all that straight. Which one of those forums should I join? Or should I just join all of them?

FiestaST.org is the busiest, FiestaST.net is where the old guys like to hang out and is slower moving, and FiestaSTForum.com is the friendliest IMO - right in the middle of the pack but all three are great and all have useful info.

Last thing to note is the shop list I put together of what's available for Fiesta ST - check out my selection here:

Well might want to look into that then

Nice, but that won't work in my area. Ford/Lincoln/& used to be Mercury cars are all combined at the same dealerships here. :(
